Stay in the Know: Engaged Managers = Engaged Employees

Today the ABR blog is helping you “stay in the know” by sharing something we came across that we found interesting. We think you will too.

At ABR, we are currently heads down working on multiple new employee onboarding projects. Our clients recognize the importance of investing in their employees from the start to ensure that they feel valued. When employees feel valued, it increases their engagement to their new company. In fact, one could argue that employee engagement begins with onboarding.

With this in mind, I came across an interesting article in Forbes magazine titled “You Must Have Engaged Employees – And It’s Not That Hard.” The article pays homage to the impact that attitude has on employee engagement. When managers model enthusiasm about the organization, their employees will genially follow suit, creating a “culture of enthusiasm.”

While we always strive to incorporate a manager component into our onboarding programs, I, for one, will be thinking hard about how to truly engage the hearts and minds of the managers as well as the employees.
