Cincinnati, Ohio (February 12, 2016) – Accelerated Business Results (ABR), a full-service, award-winning training provider, and Sonic Automotive, one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, have been awarded two 2015 Excellence in Practice Citations from the Association for Talent Development (ATD). Their entry Fixed Operations Leadership Academy was honored in the Career Development category; while The Start of Something Special was recognized in the Organizational Learning and Development category.
“We are grateful for the long-term partnership with Sonic Automotive and the recognition from ATD,” said Amy Fox, President of Accelerated Business Results. “This award demonstrates ABR’s ability to deliver innovative and relevant learning solutions.”
Sonic and ABR partnered to design and develop the Fixed Operations Leadership Academy, a 12-week program for new and high-potential service and parts leaders at Sonic that incorporated a blend of on-site classroom, self-paced, and virtual components. The other ATD Citation recognized a two-month learning program that Sonic and ABR created for new employees of Sonic’s 2014 EchoPark Automotive business launch. EchoPark is a pre-owned car lot business with a unique business model and process that offers an innovative customer experience.
“At Sonic Automotive, our number one goal is associate satisfaction, followed closely by customer satisfaction,” said Doug Bryant, Vice President of Talent Management, Training, and Recruiting. “To accomplish these goals, Sonic Automotive has an unwavering commitment to associate training and development. We are continually upgrading our training and development processes, and we partner with the best training vendors in the business to stay ahead of our competition.”
The ATD Excellence in Practice Awards recognize results achieved through the use of practices and solutions from the entire scope of workplace learning and talent development. In 2015, the organization received more than 150 entries in ten categories. Citations are presented to fully implemented practices that have strong evaluation plans, meet a demonstrated need, have appropriate design values, and are expected to show sustained results and measurable impact over time. ATD Award and Citation winners will be honored at an awards ceremony on May 23 during the 2016 ATD International Conference & Exposition in Denver, Colorado.
