The organizations were awarded Silver medals in the Best Advance in Competencies and Skill Development and Best Learning Program Supporting a Change Transformation Business Strategy categories for their joint submission, “EchoPark—The Start of Something Special.” They also earned a Bronze medal in the Best Advance in Competencies and Skill Development category for their “Sonic Fixed Operations Leadership Academy” submission.

The Silver awards recognized a two-month learning program that Sonic and ABR created for new employees of Sonic’s 2014 EchoPark Automotive business launch. EchoPark is a pre-owned car lot business with a unique business model and process that offers an innovative customer experience. The two companies also partnered to design and develop the Bronze-winning Fixed Operations Leadership Academy, a 12-week program for new and high-potential service and parts leaders at Sonic that incorporated a blend of on-site classroom, self-paced, and virtual components.
